 '2016년 글로벌 바이오 콘퍼런스'가 6월 27일 인터컨티넨탈 서울 코엑스에서 개막됐다. 식품의약품안전처와 한국바이오의약품협회 주최로 열리는 이번 행사는 7월1일까지 열린다. 

행사에는 해외 바이오의약품 규제 전문가 50여명을 비롯해 정부·제약업계·학계 전문가 등 2000여명이 참여했다. 

톰 파이크 퀸타일즈 CEO, 줄리 거버딩 전 미국 질병통제예방센터(CDC) 센터장(현 MSD 수석부사장), 브라이언 구 JP모건 아시아태평양 대표, 김형기 셀트리온 사장, 김태한(삼성바이오로직스 사장) 한국바이오의약품협회 이사장이 기조연설을 했다. 

29일에는 해외규제 당국자 초청 워크숍과 GMP(우수의약품 제조 및 품질관리기준) 포럼, 감염병 대응을 위한 글로벌 협력 전략 국제심포지엄이 열렸으며, 30일과 7월 1일에는 글로벌 백신제품화 지원단회의와 인체조직포럼, 아시아 태평양 조직은행연합회 국제학술대회가 열렸다.
